Preventive Programs in Brooklyn and Staten Island provide case management and counseling services to families at risk of losing their children to foster care or involvement in Family Court. Through individual and family counseling, home visits, group work and crisis intervention, Case Workers assist families to develop safe and nurturing environments for their children.

Intensive Preventive Services are available to families on Staten Island at risk of losing their children to foster care due to maternal substance abuse. In addition to the above services, referrals are provided to out-patient substance abuse programs and support groups.

Respite Care is available to a family in need of a temporary break from parenting. The program's goal is to be a safety net for families that are not involved in the “child protective system”. Most parents using respite do not have extended families to draw support from.
