Day Care Services are provided to low income families on Staten Island and Brooklyn through our Family Day Care Network and our Edwin Markham Child Care Center. The cost of day care is based on a Sliding Scale depending on a parent's income.
| Family Day Care: Training, support and placement services are provided to a network of licensed family day care providers on Staten Island and Brooklyn. Providers care for children between the ages of 2 months and 12 years in their home between 8 AM and 6 PM, Monday to Friday. Homes are visited regularly by staff to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Almost 300 children are provided family day care services every day.
Center-based Care: The Edwin Markham Day Care Center is a licensed day care center in the Stapleton Housing Projects on Staten Island for 60 children, ages 2½ to 5 years.
